The Challenge

A young person engaged with Striive’s programs, requiring intensive therapeutic support. Their goals focused on improving personal care routines, medication management, nutrition, school and community engagement, and the development of social and emotional skills.

Medical Background:

  • Intellectual Disability
  • High-level ADHD
  • Language Difficulties
  • Complex Trauma
  • Epilepsy

The Approach

Daily Support:
Striive provided personalised supervision to ensure safety, particularly during activities with potential risks. Essential life skills, like personal care and meal preparation, were broken into manageable steps to encourage independence. Consistent routines established a sense of security.

The participant engaged in a mix of daily living tasks, school activities, and therapeutic interventions, with support for personal care, hygiene, and attending appointments. A wide range of activities, including cooking, art therapy, physical recreation, and family visits, nurtured the development of new interests and skills.

Emotional Regulation:
Under the guidance of Striive’s clinical team, strategies like sensory aids, relaxation exercises, and quiet spaces were used to build emotional self-regulation.

Collaborative Stakeholder Engagement:
Striive worked closely with the care team, implementing customised therapeutic approaches and regularly adjusting strategies to support the participant’s evolving needs.

The Outcome

Striive’s comprehensive, structured support contributed significantly to the participant’s progress in developing personal skills, emotional resilience, and social connections, all within a safe, nurturing environment.
